Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory – LabNUR

    The Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory (LabNUR) is one of the laboratories of the Department of Animal Science (DZO) at Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV). At first, It was created aiming to conduct researches in ruminant nutrition and production. Nowadays, the LabNUR has expanded and become part of the Teaching, Research, and Extension Unit in Ruminant Nutrition and Production of UFV. The main facilities consist of 3 feedlots, which are utilized for hands on courses taught at the facilities, extension program, and reseach on ruminant nutrition and production. Along with the expansion of the LabNUR, the extension project LabNUR consulting was created, whose main objective is to provide technical services to Brazilian rural producers. The LabNUR consulting project is comprised of a trained technical team (Animal Scientists, MSc or PhD) and Animal Science undergraduate students of UFV. In addition, all project activities are coordinated by Dr. Sebastião de Campos Valadares Filho (Full Professor at DZO-UFV), a national reference in ruminant nutrition and production.
